A graduate of the University of Loughborough, UK, have experience in building institutions, led the Palestinian team in the environmental sector throughout the Middle East Peace process and chaired the Israeli-Palestinian Joint Environmental Experts Team, and have represented the PA with a number of International forums.
A key founder then manager of a number of institutions including the Community Health Unit of Bir Zeit University, the Environmental Planning Directorate (EPD)at the Ministry of Planning then the Environmental Authority, started CHF international in the West Bank and managed its programs, the Palestinian Waste Recycling Company (TADWEER), and finally, the Water Sector Regulatory Council.
Represented the Environmental sector in the METAP group, Standards institutions, Ministerial team on poverty, Higher Planning Council and others.
Worked in Palestine, in Iraq under sever working conditions as director of rehabilitation programs, United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Worked with and for local NGO’s, governmental institutions, donors’ countries, private sector and academic institutions in infrastructure programs, rehabilitation programs, humanitarian aid programs, as well as educational programs
At the same time, conducted a large number of research programs, training courses on different issues including waste management, impact assessment, preparedness, environmental management, facilitation techniques, social assessment, community participation, pollution prevention and other subjects.
Prepared a number of internal institutional bylaws, manuals, policy papers and procedures covering medical waste training manual, construction programs environmental safety manual and procedures, USAID environmental assessment manual for the WB&G. Wastewater reuse manual, compost preparation manual, waste management training manual, and others.
