Mrs Neumann-Silkow is an accomplished international development professional with proven technical and managerial expertise in the water sector, organizational development and strategic planning. She holds a diploma in biology and demonstrates 18-years success in project leadership and technical advisory. Ms. Neumann-Silkow started her career with the World Bank in Washington and the Mekong River Commission in Cambodia. In 2002 she became an employee of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (German Technical cooperation, GIZ) holding different positions in the water sector and the cooperate development department (focus on GIZ policy and strategy) in HQ in Germany and abroad. Besides a long-term secondment to DR Kongo (Kinshasa) as project director for a regional project she did various short-term and medium-term missions to Uganda, Kenia, Albania, Laos, South Africa and others. Since July 2017 Mrs. Neumann-Silkow is heading the GIZ water portfolio in Jordan which currently comprises 12 projects in the field of technical cooperation.
